Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about fractional general counsel services.
What is a fractional general counsel?
A fractional general counsel is an experienced lawyer who serves as your company's general counsel on a part-time basis. You get the same kind of support a full-time GC provides, including contracts, board and governance matters, compliance, employment issues, coordination of outside counsel and proactive risk management, for a fraction of the cost.
How is a fractional GC different from hiring a law firm?
A law firm is typically hired matter by matter and bills by the hour. A fractional general counsel works as a seamless extension of your team, learns your business, spots issues before they become problems, manages risk proactively and brings in specialist firms only when a matter truly calls for one.
What does a fractional general counsel cost?
Far less than a full-time hire. General Counsel Advisory offers time-based, flat-rate fees and project-based pricing sized to the hours you actually need, without billing surprises or long-term overhead.
What kinds of companies does General Counsel Advisory work with?
Startups, high-growth and mid-market companies across industries. Julie has deep experience in life sciences, diagnostics and technology, and the core work of a general counsel translates across sectors: transactions, governance, compliance, employment and legal operations.
